prone to cancerAs per the reports of research that is published in the present week in the journal of the ‘National Cancer Institute’, it revealed the chance of one being prone to certain forms of cancer on sitting for a long exposure of time at work or simply in front of the television. The detailed discussion further reported that there were about 8% chances of risk of colon cancer, 10% risk of cancer in the endometrium and almost 6% chances of having lung cancer for a sedentary behaviour for over two hours in a day. However, chances of cancer were nit observed in body organs like ovary, breasts, rectum, and prostate glands and there was least chances for ‘Non-Hodgkin lymphoma’.

Also, further studies by experts in issues related to this revealed the similar chances of cancer to be prevalent for some ill habits like excessive rate of drinking or smoking, having an overweight or a ‘genetic predisposition’.it is obviously not a fact that these habits are sure to cause a specific type of cancer in our body. But this can be realized that limiting these habits or preventing them can be like a precaution taken to reduce the chances of cancer in our body.

There are several ways one can avoid being sit for a long duration by simply taking a walk, or standing at times while you work or reduce the hours you usually spend by sitting down. The journal officials published these reports mainly with the objective of creating an awareness about the efficiency of certain physical activities in the reduction of the chances of risks of the cancer in the human body cells. The continuous sitting for a long duration, even if the person is keeping a sound health and appetite is also very harmful. The other several effects of the continuous sitting includes ‘Type 2 Diabetes, Cardiovascular disease, and cancers mainly in breasts and colon’.
