Lamborghini Showcases New V10-Engined Asterion Hybrid Coupe Concept at the Paris Motor Show
Lamborghini has introduced a new concept, dubbed Asterion on the eve of Paris motor show. The model is seen as a technology describer which shows an in house developed 898 plug in petrol electric hybrid drive train.
The multi faceted Asterion LP1910-4 was presented to the people by the Lamborghini president Stephan Winklemann at a media event prior to the Paris show.
Winklemann described the car as being made for comfortable luxury daily cruising than for ultimate track performance.
On its own, the longitudinally mounted V10 delivers 602bhp and 413lb ft exclusively to the rear wheels via a seven speed dual clutch automatic gear box which is located behind the engine in a traditional transaxle layout.
The petrol engine is combined with three brush less electric motors, while one is placed with the gearbox and capable of directing drive to the rear wheels, and two more powerful units situated within the front axle, where they provide direct drive to the front wheels.
Together, the electric motors produced a combined 296bhp, increasing the Asterion’s overall output to 898bhp and yet to be specified peak torque figure.
The driver can choose between three modes via button, on the steering wheel. Z for zero local emission running, I to select Ibrido, and T denoting Termico, meaning thermal power.
Energy used to power the three electric motors is stored in a lithium ion battery mounted down the centre of the cabin within the tunnel which is usually reserved for the gearbox. The layout of Lamborghini provides a combination of balance and crash safety. The battery can be charged via recuperated means while on the run or main power via a conventional wall socket.
In front wheel drive electric mode, the Asterion is claimed to possess arrange of up to 31 miles at a speed of to 78mph. IN hybrid mode, in which the individual power sources simultaneously channel drive both to the front and rear wheels, the new Lamborghini is claimed to possess a 0-62mph time of 3.0 sec and a top speed of 199 mph.https://www.aartiinformatics.com/auto/cars/lamborghini-new-asterion-hybrid-coupe-concept/https://www.aartiinformatics.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Paris-motor-show.jpghttps://www.aartiinformatics.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Paris-motor-show-300x300.jpgCARSINTERNATIONALUPCOMING CARSAsterion Hybrid Coupe Concept, lamborghini, lamborghini cars, lamborghini models,Lamborghini new concept, lamborghini pictures, luxury cruising, new lamborghini,Paris motor showLamborghini has introduced a new concept, dubbed Asterion on the eve of Paris motor show.
