Iphone 6 To Launch In Two Screen Sizes
There are a lot of rumors floating around about Apple’s release of a new iPhone. As usual Apple has said nothing regarding that yet, but they are expected to release it around September of this year. Coupled with the fact that they announced the improved iPhone 5s at the end of 2013, it would appear that they would primarily go for a larger screen than before, to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy S4, the HTC One, and the Sony Experia Z. There are a few very persistent points that are being heard. Firstly that it will be released in two screen sizes, that it will be the thinnest iPhone yet and that Apple will be looking at the iPod Nano and the iPhone 5C for design cues.
As we know, Apple sticks to the same design for two releases before going in for something new. The iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5s were similar so it’s almost certain there will be sweeping changes for the next release. Let us look at these rumors, and they are rumors at this point, in detail as far as we know.
Two Screen Sizes
It appears the phone will be released in 2 versions, a 4.7 inch and a 5.5inch, and the resolution will be upped. Apple has ordered higher resolution LCD displays from Japans Sharp, Japan Display South Korea’s LG Display. Rumor has it that the display will be full HD 1920×1080 resolution, but that is not the way Apple works. It is more likely that the resolution will be 2272×1280. It also seems that Apple is looking at the quantum dot technology to increase image quality from the already excellent display that its older siblings have. So it will once again have the largest screen and the finest display on the market.
We hear that the new phone will be the thinnest yet at between 6 to 7mm thick. This of course begs the question whether it will still remain an iPhone, or will it, like the iPad become the iPhone Air. However, the present camera would not fit, so Apple would have to come up with a thinner cameras.
The new phone is supposed to have a more powerful processor. Again rumor has it that both Samsung and TMSC are making the new “A8” chip, likely to be clocking 2.6 GHz.
The iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5s had plastic bodies. The new phone, it is heard, will, like the iPod Nano, have anodized aluminum body in multiple colors.
If all the foregoing comes true, we should be having another mind-blowing release from Apple, don’t you think?
