Looking good is no more an advantage – it is a necessity. And when it comes to looking good – clothes and makeup go hand-in-hand with hairstyling. But unfortunately for a lot of us, our haireither isn’t what we want it to be, or most hairstyle tutorials for ramp ready hair seem far too complex for us to manage in the morning before getting to work!

After all, when you go into the salon for a hairstyle, chances are they take quite a bit of time. So why should you be able to do it in express time, right?

Let’s bust that myth today, shall we?

What we are about to give you are…

9 tricks to style your mane fast and effectively!

1. Want to make your curls last longer and look better?

Start curling mid-length and work down to the ends instead of the other way around!

2. Want a streak of bright color in your hair?

Try out colored hair chalks – they look GREAT and wash off completely in the shower!

3. Hair looking too greasy in the front but not enough time for a wash?

Give your bangs a mini-shampoo in the sink and blow dry on the cold setting – and you are good to go!

4. The teeny weeny fly-aways near your forehead just don’t seem to grow out?

Tame it instead – take an old toothbrush, dip in hairspray and comb the fly-aways down – they’ll stay that way!

5. Bobby pins never seen to hold up the hair too well?

Probably because you’ve been using them all wrong! The right way to use bobby pins is with the zigzag side facing your head and the flat side outward…

6. Greasy hair and you don’t want to give it a wash?

A dry shampoo (if you have light hair use baby talcum powder, and if you have brown hair use a mix of cocoa powder and cornstarch) is the best way to refresh hair! Just dust some at the roots – and brush through!

7. Hairspray on the hair leaving it too heavy and lifeless?

Spray some on your hands and run your hands through your hair before styling – instead of directly spraying it on!

8. Want curls but you were born with poker straight hair?

Not to worry… Create pockets with aluminum foil, form curls with sections of the hair, place inside the pockets and then press down with a flat iron, and voila!

9. Want a fuller ponytail and one that looks longer than your usual one?

Make two ponytails – make two sections, one with the top half of your hair and the other near the tap of your neck. Let the top one fall over the second and see the effect!

Hairstyling may be an art – but it is an art that requires a bit of trial-and-error and a generous dose of ingenuity – and not necessarily time! Enjoy!
